Three Rivers Academy vs New City College

A strong fourth quarter sees New City pass Three Rivers Academy in the ABL on Wednesday.

A balanced game throughout saw the home team going into the final quarter with a one-point lead, but NCC turned up the pressure forcing Three Rivers into multiple turnovers which would lead to easy transition baskets resulting in a 10 point lead for New City with 5 minutes to play. Despite TRA’s best efforts to regain the lead with a late run, the closest they would come was within 4 points before the visitors ran out eventful winners 101-92.

“Frustrating one for us today, leading for 3 quarters only to let the game get away from us in the final quarter. I’m proud of my guys for showing a great improvement from the last time we played New City, they ran us off the court in the first match up but we made them work hard for this one so there’s lots of positives to take away from this loss. Ultimately the difference was Aaron Badibo, he was a nightmare for us defensively scoring the ball in multiple ways inside and out,” said coach Caylin Raftopoulos

Leading scorers for NCC included Aaron Badibo who led the visitors with 52 points whilst Three Rivers’ Marc Sylvest added 29 for the home team.

Week 17 play sees New City host Holy Trinity while Three Rivers Academy welcome league leaders St.Charles.
