Three Rivers Academy 55 v 101 Oasis Academy

After a close defeat in their first game of the season Three Rivers Academy (TRA) found themselves on the wrong side of a heavy defeat to ABL newcomers Oasis Academy, losing 101-55.

The visitors pressing and trapping defence proved too much to handle causing the home team to make a number of turnovers that resulted in easy fast-break points for Oasis Academy.

There was some mini scoring runs and play to be positive about from the hosts but with the lead stretching the longer the game wore on, it was a valuable lesson learnt about the ever growing standards of the ABL.

The visitors had a balanced spread of scorers which was led by Bernard Badu-Boateng and La Quarne Sayles who had 19 apiece. TRA’s Brett Greenwood put up 20 while James Reeve chipped in 14 in a losing effort.

TRA will travel to Harris Academy and Oasis Academy will play host to Capital City Academy in what will be a battle of the newly formed ABL teams in game week 4 play.
