The Norwood School 91 v 93 The North School

Norwood are getting better and better in every game but they are yet to win this season as North School handed them another exciting nail biting loss, 91-93.

The North School started well from the jump ball, scoring 8 points before Norwood found the net. Norwood was trailing all the way on the 1st quarter finishing 24-28.

The visitors raised their defensive intensity in the 2nd quarter and kept The North School on 20 points while they scored 32.

They took on the lead into the 3rd quarter, but couldn’t sustain the scoring. The North stayed consistent with their scoring led by their star player, C. Parnell. The quarter ended with 18-24 to The North School, compounded by a number of missed baskets and crucial turnovers by Norwood School. That said, Norwood was still leading by 2 points going into the last quarter.

The 4th quarter became the battle of composure, The North School controlled the game and chose the correct shots making them for good measure. Norwood changed the defence to zone but the visitors managed to answer back by finding gaps for crucial 3 point shots, led by R.Thakali. Norwood managed to slow down The North School, but could not convert the defensive stops into points and ended up losing 17-21, finishing the game 91-93 to The North School.

The game could have gone either way on the last minutes, but the unstoppable efforts of The North School top scorer, C. Parnell, game high 42 points made a big difference. Norwood’s top scorer was A. Orlu with 29 points.
