The Norwood School 108 – 74 Barton Peveril College

Norwood and Barton Peveril College started strong exchanging baskets from the start, but Norwood’s tenacity and strength gave them an edge over Barton’s shorthanded 9 players’ strong effort which earned them their first win of the season, 108-74.

Both teams started by exchanging baskets in the beginning of the first quarter and looked posed for a showdown of a good game. Norwood raised their intensity on defence and converted their stops and steals to easy baskets. Barton couldn’t match the quick basket conversion and Norwood started pulling away, finishing the first quarter 26 points to Barton’s 17.

Norwood continued with the momentum from the first quarter, raised their defensive intensity and kept getting rewarded with easy baskets. Barton fought back hitting 3’s led by J. Lee. Norwood stayed focused and held Barton to 15 points while they scored 34 points on the 2nd quarter which was a decisive moment of the game. Norwood kept the momentum on to the 3rd quarter scoring 22 points, while Barton kept working on getting back to the game by scoring 16 points.

Barton fought back on the 4th quarter and scored 26 points but still couldn’t stop Norwood scoring 27points.

Barton was led by top game scorer J. Lee with 37 points, showing his fantastic shooting range of 9 3’s in total. Norwood top scorer was S. Mitchell with 25 Points.
