The Holy Trinity School v Three Rivers Academy

Holy Trinity finished off the season with 7 straight wins, this time overcoming a very physical battle from Three Rivers 78-64.

After the first 2 scores of the game from hosts HTS, it was the visitors who went on a run of their own leading 12-5 after the opening stages. Trinity though had a mini run themselves closing the gap to 2 points before the teams traded to finish up the 1st quarter 17-21 in favour of Three Rivers.

The second period was again a back and forth affair but behind some strong play by Fettes (21) and Sylvest (25), Trinity found themselves down 31-37 at the half time break.

It wasn’t until an 8-0 burst mid-way through the third that gave HTS their first lead since the opening minutes and a lead they would hold on to until the final buzzer. Solid play from Louis Roberts (20) and great contributions off the bench in the final period meant that HTS were able to open up a 19-point advantage and despite a late flurry from Three Rivers it was all in Vein as the Host recorded their final win of the season.

Coach Hildreth had this to say after the game. “It was a tough start for us this year with a number of injuries in the opening 5 games, that’s the nature of the beast though and I am just happy and proud of the guys that they finished strong to close out the year. With 4 starters returning we are looking forward to next season already”

Leading HTS again was Louis Roberts with 20 and he was supported well by Otor and Laryea both on 15 points. Sylvester 25 and Fettes 21 were supported by Kenyon with 8.
