The College of Haringey 63 v 49 Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College

A strong 2nd quarter help push COHENEL past Hammersmith Hammers, with a final score of 63-49.

It was a slow opening quarter where neither team could gain an advantage. The 2nd quarter COHENEL was able to force numerous turnovers which led to easy baskets in transition. That meant the hosts would lead by 12 heading into halftime.

A balanced scoring second half from both teams helped COHENEL hold off the visitors for a final score of 63-49.

Blessing Makanda led the home side with 13 points, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Joseph Powell and Kacper Kaplon both chipped in with 9 points. Lexas Palmer led Hammersmith with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Billal Miezou added 8 points and 6 rebounds.

COHENEL Coach AJ Roberts said: “I thought we didn’t play at our best today but we were able to grind out a win. We will use this bye week to get better and be ready to play the following week.”

Cohenel will be have a bye next week and Hammersmith Hammers will face up against St. Charles.
