Stoke on Trent College vs Loughborough College

A Halloween match-up in the ABL Central Conference saw Loughborough College travel to Stoke-on-Trent College, looking for an upset against the as yet undefeated West Midlands side.

Stoke started the game with an 8-0 run and never looked back, pulling off an 87-44 victory to improve to 4-0 in league play. The hosts were led by guard Bayley Gaunt who had an efficient 35 point outing, shooting 56.2% from the behind the arc.

Loughborough played hard throughout the contest, refusing to to give up on the game at any point, cutting the deficit to seven points late in the first half. The East Midlands side were led by Kondwani Chulu who had 16 points, shooting 50% from the floor.

Stoke controlled the boards throughout the game, winning the rebound battle 39-10, a vital aspect of the contest which helped the home side come out on top.

Stoke Coach Shawn Jamison had this to say following the game, “I am happy to win today’s game, as we played some good basketball at times. I still believe we have improvements to make; we can play better defence and cut out the unnecessary turnovers.”
