Stoke on Trent College vs Long Road Sixth Form College

Stoke-on-Trent College gained another victory as they improved to 6-1 with a 115-26 home win over Long Road Sixth Form College.

After a solid start to their ABL Central Conference campaign, Stoke were looking to continue their recent run of dominant performances as they welcomed the travelling Long Road side. The contest saw six of the seven Stoke players score in double digits; shooting 51% from the floor as a team.

Long Road struggled to score as Stoke’s size and activity on defence disrupted their offence, with Stoke racking up 22 steals for the game.

The visitors were led by Josh Batcheler who had a team-high nine points, while Bayley Gaunt led all scorers with 34 points to pace Stoke, closely followed by Michael Jara who added 30 points of his own.

Stoke Coach Shawn Jamison commented, “I am happy to pick up another win before the Christmas break and, despite good stints throughout the performance, I think we are able to perform even better.”

Stoke will resume their ABL schedule in the New Year when they face Nottingham on the road on Wednesday 9 January, while Long Road will look to defend home court against Central Conference leaders Aston Manor on the same date.
