St Charles College vs Raines Foundation School

Raines Foundation School had an emphatic start to the game on Wednesday afternoon, as they defeated St Charles College 75-85. The game remained close throughout, but a 20-3 final period from Raines, including big shots from Shakeem Giwa, Simon Olanipekun and Jason Prince, helped secure the victory.

“It was a game where we played to our style and rhythm for about twenty minutes out of forty,” said St Charles Coach Patrick Avorkliyah.

“Credit should go to Raines; they adjusted and made it a very tough game. However, it was really positive that the third quarter saw our team get multiple offensive rebounds due to extra efforts.”

Giwa finished with 29 points to lead for Raines, while Prince added 17. St Charles were led by 18 points from Taariq Powell, as Abiodun Adedo supported with 17.

Raines will look to continue their strong start on Wednesday 7 November against Harris Academy St John’s Wood, whilst St Charles will take on New City College.
