St Charles College vs Hackney Community College

St Charles Sixth Form College were handed their second defeat of the season at home to Hackney Community College this Wednesday as they suffered an 86-101 loss.

Aaron Badibo led the way for Hackney with 26 points, whilst Damarni Velinor put up a season high of 30 points in defeat for the hosts.

The first quarter remained neck and neck for a long period of time as both teams fought aggressively on offence. Hackney made it difficult for transition scores forcing traps in the half court.

However, the second quarter provided an influx of points and Hackney were able to eventually come away victorious.

Hans Manku said: “We didn’t meet our own standards for a long duration of time. However, in the late second quarter, we caught momentum and speed. Today’s loss allows us to reflect on things we need to work on in order to reach the play-offs.”

St Charles play away at Leyton next week, whilst Hackney play at home against Leyton on February 2. Both will continue their battle for first place.
