St Charles College 90 v 64 Capital City Academy

To begin the new ABL 2019/20 season, St Charles went to battle with Capital City Academy, claiming a 90-64 win.

The game started off close with both teams trading baskets, however St Charles began to pull away in the first and second quarter with the first half ending 44-23.

In the second half Capital came out with some more energy, going on a solid run and continuously slowing down STC. Alimi gave a solid performance with 10 points, keeping his team afloat and winning the 3rd quarter 13-19.

St Charles Coach Patrick said: “We came out with good intensity and the breakaway we had was great in the first half, however there are still many things we need to execute on, especially on defence, but it is still early on in the season and with hard work I trust my players will progress and develop over the year.”

The scoring leaders for St Charles where Abiodun Adedo with a solid 28 points and Joshua Akinbiyi chipping in 16 points.

St Charles will go on to face Hammersmith and City College next week and Capital City play against Uxbridge College.
