Raines Foundation School vs West London College

Raines Basketball Academy picked up the home Win 90-61 Vs Ealing Hammersmith.

Raines started the match off slow missing their first 5 shots while Ealing played well the first 3 minutes going on a 11-4 run. Both teams finished first quarter 21-21. Raines’ defensive pressure caused problems for Ealing in the 2nd Quarter which lead to several defensive stops and easy looks at the basket. The home team led by as many as 16 points throughout the game, but a much improved Ealing played hard and rebounded well throughout the game.

Raines Head Coach Laurent Irish said, “I thought we did not start off the way we wanted to today, Our effort and energy needs to be much better from the opening tip. We did not have a great output from some of our key players but we got good production from the guys coming off the bench. I was not happy with our defensive communicate and our on ball pressure. Offensively we missed to many easy opportunities and did not shot the ball well from the free throwline. match ball went to Simon Olanipekun. who lead all scores with 24 Points. Simon, Captain of the team, did a good job trying to fire up his team with 2 monster left hand dunks on the fast break. We will have to be more solid on the defensive end if we want to win are next match.”

The scoring for Raines was led by 24 points from Simon Olanipekun adding 5 Stls, 3 Rebs & 4 Ast while supported with 12 points from Jason Prince, Meanwhile, Ealing were paced by 14 points from N.mesquipa while I. Wilkinson finished with 12 points.
