Raines Foundation School vs Harris Academy St John’s Wood

Raines Foundation School defeated Harris Academy St John’s Wood 91-50 in Week 6 of the ABL Southern Conference, improving to 6-0 to go top of the standings.

The game remained close in the first quarter, but Raines began to pull away in the second period with big shots from Jason Prince and Simon Olanipekun who finished the game with 26 points and 25 points, respectively.

“I thought our defensive effort was very poor in the first half,” said Raines Coach Laurent Irish. “Give credit to Harris Academy, they played hard and shot the ball well. In the second half our defence picked up and we held Harris to just 20 points.”

Jason Prince led Raines with 26 points, supported by 25 points from Simon Olanipekun 25, while Shakeem Giwa chipped in 18. Harris Academy were paced by Romel Espanillo’s 15 points.

Raines will look to continue their strong start to the season on Wednesday 14 November as they face a tough match-up with fellow undefeated team King Henry School. Harris Academy will travel to St Charles College, looking to improve on their 1-3 record.
