Queen Ethelburga’s 107 – 57 Loughborough College

Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate hosted Loughborough College Wednesday afternoon in the ABL north.

The mismatch provided the hosts an opportunity to rest key players and give great experience to their bench, which made for a much more competitive fixture in the first half. The final score would read 107-57 to QE who will now look ahead to their clash with Hartlepool next Wednesday.

“It was great to see our guys who work incredibly hard day in and day our get an opportunity to play extended minutes and contribute significantly,” said QE coach Josh Metcalf.

“It was encouraging to see Charles Hatton step up and demonstrate the work he’s been putting into his shot hitting five 3’s, and will Jeffels took a much more dominant role inside which I think will only benefit him later in the season.”

Elijah Walsh again led all scorers, pouring in 50 points in a short 20 minutes of playing time, while Loughborough were led by 12 points from S Miller.

Loughborough will host Stoke On Trent College next Wednesday as they look to turn their season around.
