Queen Ethelburga’s 109-79 City of Leeds Academy

Queen Ethelburga’s faced off with local rivals City of Leeds Academy in the ABL North Wednesday afternoon.

The home side took an early lead with the quarter score reading 26-12 to the visitors and would slowly build on their lead to run out eventual 109-79 winners behind pressure defence and a high tempo.

“I think this was a good performance, but we look ready for the upcoming Christmas break if I’m honest” said QE coach Josh Metcalf. “Credit to the boys because the result never really felt in doubt, but we need to learn that we can’t switch it on and off when we want if we want to achieve our eventual goal this season”.

Latrell Davis finished with a game high 44 points and was supported by 36 points from his backcourt teammate Elijah Walsh. Leeds were led by Bailey England who finished with 16 points.

QE will travel to Aston Manor it what is sure to be a tough encounter next season before entering the Christmas break while Leeds travel to Loughborough College.
