Northfleet Technology College 76 v 44 Sir Robert Woodard Academy

Northfleet picked up their first win of the ABL season on Wednesday afternoon, beating SRWA 76-44 at home.

The game went back and forth in the 1st quarter with both team trading baskets, Northfleet were unable to convert with their offensive rebounding dominance and the game remained close. The home team held a slim 2 point advantage at the end of the 1st.

In the 2nd quarter, Northfleet quickly established control of the game, forcing SRWA into a number of turnover and scoring easily in transition, racing out to 36-15 lead heading into the interval.

In the 2nd half Northfleet continued to pile on the pressure and pushed their lead to 32 points by the end of the 3rd. Credit should go to SRWA who never stopped fighting and tied the final quarter with Northfleet with both team scoring 21 points.

Evan Longman led the attack with 13 points in a balanced scoring display by the home team, with Owen Longman adding 12 points and Miykael Cato-Fournillier and Muhammad Barnett both adding 10 points each. The visitors were paced by 13 points from Lewis Francis while William Slater added 8 points.

Owen Longman said “It was a well-deserved victory as we maintained our intensity and execution throughout the game both on the defensive end and the offensive end”.

Coach Parry said “It was great to get the first win of the season but we have a lot of work still to do if we want to push for a play-off spot this year. It was great that everyone had the opportunity to contribute and we got some really good looks today”.

Northfleet Tech will travel to The Norwood School next Wednesday while SRWA host the John Roan School.
