Northfleet Technology College 109 v 42 Barton Peveril College

Northfleet picked up their third win of the ABL season on Wednesday afternoon, beating Barton Peveril 109-42 at home.

Northfleet raced out to an early lead applying defensive pressure against Barton Peveril’s guards and forcing them into a number of turnover, which the home team converted for easy scores. The home team continued to pressure the ball and their lead at the end of the first was 34-8.

Barton Peveril composed themselves for the start of the 2nd quarter and changed their defence to a 2-3 Zone. Northfleet still managed to exploit the gaps and led going into the interval 58-22.

In the second half Northfleet continued to pile on the pressure and pushed their lead throughout the game, eventually winning the contest 109-42.

Evan Longman led the attack with 17 points in a balanced scoring display by the home team, with Rishi Lockwood 15 points. The visitors were paced by 10 points from Kai Tsogoo while Henry Culpitt added 9 points.

Rishi Lockwood said: “We applied constant pressure throughout the game and never let up on the opposing team. It was a good team performance today.”

Coach Parry said: “It was great to get another win under our belts and great to see everyone getting the opportunity to play. Special mention goes Rishi Lockwood who has worked hard since arriving in the academy and today had a break-out performance.

“Credit should go to Barton Peveril who never stopped fighting and gave 100% for their team and their coach throughout the game.”

Northfleet Tech will travel to the undefeated Harris Academy Crystal Palace next Wednesday while Barton Peveril host the Norwood School.
