Northfleet Technical College v The North School

The ABL regular season came to a close today with The North School picking up a road win against Northfleet, 65-52. Some sharp shooting from The North School saw them come out on top of a scrappy affair against NTC.

From the get-go The North’s shooting set them apart, a flurry of 3-point shots saw the North finish the first quarter up 23 points to 9. A scrappy second quarter saw The North extend their lead to 17 points. But, consecutive baskets from Temitayo Fatusin saw Northfleet close the gap and finish the third quarter down only 12 points.

The fourth quarter saw both teams struggle to score, neither coaching staff were impressed to see their side turn the ball over and spurn scoring opportunities around the basket. The low scoring final quarter-suited The North School and Northfleet were unable to make any significant scoring runs to decrease the deficit. The North School clinched the game at the free throw line as Northfleet fouled to try to extend the game. Temitayo Fatusin led the hosts with 14 points, while the North School were led by Jay Parnell with 21 and Sean Trumper added 14 for the visitors.

Coach Parry said, “Today’s performance sums up our season, we underachieved today, and we have underachieved this season. Credit should go to the North school for the win today.’

He added ‘I would like to thank those players who played their last ABL game for us today and fully committed to the program with high levels of success over the year, I wish them every success in the future’.

Northfleet finish the season with 9 wins and 7 losses, while the North school finish with 7 wins and 9 losses respectively.
