New City College vs St Charles College

New City College were victorious 89-83 in their first home game of the season when they entertained the visiting St Charles College.

The home team stormed out of the blocks early nailing a trio of three-pointers on their way to a 32-17 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Aaron Badibo would go on to record 42 points along with six rebounds and six assists, whilst double figure scoring from Laja Ogidan and Simon Torres also contributed to the win.

A strong start to the second quarter from St Charles closed the deficit to just four points at the half, with NCC leading 50-46.

The second half would be nip-and-tuck with the home side winning the final two quarters by a single point each time, as good offensive rebounding kept them in front to take a hard-fought victory.

Abiodun Adedo’s shot 70% the field en route to 24 points as the standout performance for the visitors.

Badibo’s 42 point effort was supported by 14 points from Laja Ogidan 14, while Simon Torres added 10. St Charles were paced by Adedo’s 24 point outing, while Taariq Powell supported with 17.
