New City College Basketball 115 vs 35 Long Road Sixth Form

New City College came out as the aggressors, with an uptempo style that quickly got the scoreboard ticking as the hosts beat Long Road 115-35.

The starters got NCC an early lead 13-2 advantage as Long Road found their feet. After six minutes, the hosts started to score some easy layups in transition which ended the 1st quarter score at 33-11.

At the beginning of the 2nd quarter New City kept up the intensity, forcing their opposition into numerous errors which helped the lead to grow even more. The leading scorer at half time was Simon Olanipekun with 13 points with the half-time score being 64 -17.

To start the 3rd, New City College Lions decided to heavily rotate from their bench, who didn’t show any slack in their defensive or offensive execution. When the starters came back on, led by guard Simon Torres, the offense ran perfectly to find players like Moses Gordon and Ezekiel Lashley for easy buckets. Guards Marka Sy and Adbulmaliq Oke made passing lanes difficult for the visitors, which led to scoring points in transition ending the third quarter at 93-27.

The 4th quarter didn’t have the same intensity, as the scoreline was very one sided. Long Road had two players foul out and New City College Lions player Daniel Obeng also fouled out. The final score ended 115-35 with Lanre Ayinla top scoring with 23 points for NCC Lions.
