Loughborough College vs Long Road Sixth Form College

Loughborough College hosted Long Road Sixth Form College in a Central Conference mid-table clash which saw the home side take the victory 56-46.

The first half saw both sides battle to take control of the game with Loughborough taking a 27-17 lead at the half-time break. The third quarter saw Loughborough gain momentum, led by Elliot Jeffery (13 points and 7 rebounds).

Long Road switched to a full-court press to begin the fourth and cut the lead to eight early in the final stanza, but the depth of the Loughborough squad was too much for the road team to handle.

Loughborough Coach Pak Chingombe said, “I was impressed with how much everyone contributed to the win, we are improving game by game which is a testament to the hard work and effort the players have put in.”

Loughborough’s Ollie Bateson lead the way with 14 points, five assists and three steals, followed by Adetayo Meade-Bramble who added 12 points, six rebounds and four steals. Josh Batcheler had a game-high 17 points and three rebounds to pace Long Road.

Loughborough are next in action when they face EABL side Oaklands College in the next round of the AoC Sport Premier Cup on Wednesday 12 December, while Long Road now head into the Christmas break with their next match-up against Aston Manor Academy in January.
