Leyton Sixth Form College vs Northfleet Technology College

Northfleet Technology College took a convincing win on the road against Leyton Sixth Form College Lions, taking a 53-73 victory on Wednesday afternoon.

The visitors applied heavy pressure early on and made their most significant break-away in the first quarter. Daniel Aggidi was instrumental, making three triples on the bounce within the last two minutes of the first. Leyton found it tough to get back into the game, as Northfleet had built a hard-earned 14 point lead going into the quarter beak, a lead they would hold for the rest of the contest.

Aggidi paced Northfleet with 14 points, supported by 13 from Temitayo Fatusin as Adrian Okoro chipped in 10. Leyton were led by Jawaad Kawoya’s 17 points, closely followed by 15 points from Chima Obikwelu.

Leyton Coach Dave Lavinier was disappointed with the loss, but took positives from the individual improvements in player performances, “We struggled with their press in the first quarter, and didn’t really get to the point of managing it until the fourth. We need to be able to respond quicker in future.”

Coach Lavinier continued, “We also need to be more consistent from the free throw line, as we could have been in the game if we just improved our percentages from there. Despite this, there were lots of good takeaways from the game.”

Leyton are back in action with a rare Tuesday fixture on 27 November when they host John Roan, whilst Northfleet will welcome St Thomas the Apostle College on 28 November.
