Leyton Sixth Form College v The North School

The LSC Lions suffered another tough home defeat 53-70 in game week 16, at the hands of The North School.

The first half was dominated by The North School with their three point specialists, Kai Potts and Max Heath on fine form – contributing 18 points between them from range. The LSC Lions switched defensive strategies in the second half, which helped to contain The North School’s scoring and made for a far more even contest. Despite this, the LSC Lions struggled to get back into contention and the North ran out worthy winners in a well battled encounter.

Kai Potts led the scoring for the visitors with 18 points, with Max Heath and Jay Parnell also making double figures, contributing 13 each. For the hosts, Chima Obikwelu was again on fantastic form and led all scorers with 22 points, with Mukhtar Adelakun (15) and Jawaad Kawoya (10) also making good contributions.

LSC Lions coach, Dave Lavinier, was satisfied with the performance, despite the result and commended on the LSC Lions team’s progress in recent weeks and their attitude to chasing the game down: “We knew this team were well organised and well drilled and it was always going to be a tough fixture, but we found ways of getting into the game and remained positive throughout, credit to the team and to our opposition.”

LSC are on the road next week as they take on Northfleet Technology College, meanwhile The North School host STAC.
