Leyton Sixth Form College 35 v 106 Essex Rebels (Vi6 Colchester)

Leyton Sixth Form College’s disappointing start to the season continues with a 106-35 loss to visitors from Colchester, Essex Rebels.

After an encouraging first quarter for LSC, which finished 14-27 in favour of the visitors, the subsequent periods Essex Rebels’ relentless full court pressing game proved difficult for LSC to bypass. The hosts managed just 21 combined points during the second, third and fourth quarters.

Essex Rebels most dominant display came during the second quarter, which saw a total of 28 points scored for the visitors, which included an impressive number of layups from Dylan Beaird. A bright spark for LSC was point guard Elizangelo Lopes, who made a number of impressive drives, and picked up almost a third of the total points for LSC.

During the second half, Elijah Adebambo scored an impressive number of triples, racking up 16 points for the visiting team in the space of 5 minutes.

Some of the highlights for LSC included an impressive three pointer scored by Hakeem Shobande in the first half, as well as a quick-fire double from Lopes; with the clear highlight for Essex Rebels being an impressive dunk by Adam Maiden during the third quarter.

Essex Rebels will be hoping to carry their momentum into next week’s match versus Haringey Sixth Form College, whilst LSC will be looking to pick themselves up as they host a tough Moulton College Side.
