King Henry School v St Charles College

King Henry win 100-66 at home against top of the league St.Charles College in the ABL South Division.

The game was a competitive contest with both teams keen to keep their winning streak going.  King Henry came out with an impressive 23-7 first quarter and were determined to gain an early advantage. In the second quarter, St.Charles pulled back and showed their shot-making ability with 16-21 comeback.

Both teams settled themselves in the third, which was an efficient quarter by both teams, but KH were able to break out in transition for easy baskets with a 21-17 finish. The fourth quarter was again decisive by King Henry who stepped up their defense and forced turn-overs to get some easy baskets on their way to winning the third quarter and eventually the game.

The return of Josh Uduje made the difference for King Henry with an amazing 38pts, whilst teammates B. Tabansi added a double-double of 17 points and 10 assists, and M. Fofanah had 12 points and 5 assists . St Charles were led by T. Powell’s 18 points and 6 rebounds and F. Jardie’s 13.

Coach Bucknall said: “St. Charles are top of the league  but today we had all our weapons available which make us tough to beat.”

King Henry are home next week to New City College.
