Hartlepool Sixth Form 61 v 76 Queen Ethelburga’s

Hartlepool SFC hosted their first ever ABL game, losing out to Queen Ethelburga’s 61-76.

Hartlepool pulled themselves back within five points late on but 4 steals in the 4th quarter from QE star Elijah Walsh alongside his 24 points saw the visitors eventually pull away.

Hartlepool’s Head Coach Mark Elderkin said: “I was very proud of my team today. This was our first experience in a game of this level against a well coached QE team. I thought we did ourselves proud and showed we belong in this division”

Latrell Davis added 20 points for QE on the back of six 3 point makes whilst Kris Grinius led Hartlepool with 18 points in his ABL debut.

Hartlepool will now take on Loughbrough next week as they hope to pick up their first ever win in the competition. Queen Ethelburga’s will host City of Leeds in their home opener next week.
