Harris City Academy CP 28 v 88 Northfleet Technology College

Harris City Academy Crystal Palace’s hot start to the season came to an abrupt end on Wednesday afternoon with a crushing 88 – 28 defeat against a strong Northfleet Technology College.
From the tip, NTC were ready to play. They were organised, with everybody knowing their roles. It was a very professional away performance. They used their most dangerous weapon of a full court press to open up a 20 point gap in the first quarter, which continued to get bigger as the game went on. A young HCACP side fielding four U16 players were unable to cope with the high tempo and intensity of the NTC press and the shooting prowess of Owen Longman who finished with a game high 25pts shooting 5/10 from beyond the arc. The only positive for HCACP was the fighting spirit the home team continued to show even into the last mins of the final quarter.
“This loss is definitely a lesson I want my boys to learn from” said head coach Lee McCarthy after the defeat “Myself and my coaching staff are committed to developing and teaching our team, even in the face of such a loss. We have to turn it into a positive for us so in the future we can use this experience to our advantage “
For NTC Evan Longman also chipped in with 21 points. Top scorers for HCACP were Dillon Essien and Frank Bokesa both with 8 points
HCACP will look to bounce back to winning ways when they resume play after the two week break on Wednesday 6th November at home against The North School, whilst Northfleet will take on HTS storm on the road.
