Harris Academy St John’s Wood 84 v 82 COHENEL

HASJW recorded third straight league win, defeating in overtime very tough COHENEL team 84-82.

The hosts executed very well on both ends of the floor during the entire first half. After the interval HASJW continued with poised play and kept the lead in the third quarter.

However the visitors showed resilience in the last 10 minutes of the game and took the game into overtime. HASJW weathered the storm in the extra period and came out as the winners in the very entertaining game of basketball.

“Both teams displayed great resilience, especially at the end of the regulation and entire overtime. COHENEL are very physical team and they made necessary adjustments to make this contest very competitive but we were able to stay composed under their defensive pressure to come out on the winning end,” commented HASJW head coach Predrag Krneta.

Barbieri led all scorers with 37 points with Choaibi and Lanoy adding 17 and 14 points for the hosts, whilst Powell recorded 27 with Malanda and Omonsanya chipping in 16 and 15 for the visitors.

COHENEL will host Three Rivers in the next round and HASJW will look to continue good start of the season against Uxbridge College.
