Haringey Sixth Form College vs John Roan School

Haringey Sixth Form College welcomed the Joan Roan School for a Week 8 match-up in the ABL Eastern Conference, as the hosts improved to 8-0 on the season with a 91-51 victory.

Right from the warm up you could tell both teams were fired up for the game. From the tip, it was evident this would be a physical contest as the intensity in the sports hall was high.

Eventually, Haringey’s pressure defence proved too much for the away team, as the hosts started to build their momentum. A strong performance throughout the second half meant they went on to win 91-51 and maintain their undefeated record atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Haringey Coach Franck Batimba said, “They came out strong and we had to turn things up a notch to take control of the game. Credit goes out to them as they battled to the end. We didn’t start off too well and we had far too many turnovers but overall it was a good performance and a good result, against a good team.”

Franklin Agu led Haringey with 28 points, closely followed by Alex Distras who contributed 25 points. Lanre Ayinla led John Roan with 16 points, as Seal Osajivbe and Kitan Ogunbona added nine points apiece.

Haringey travel to Barking & Dagenham College next week, whilst the John Roan School visit CoHENEL.
