Haringey Sixth Form College 111 – 57 Mayfield School

This Wednesday Haringey Sixth Form College hosted Mayfield School in what ended up being once again a comfortable win for Haringey.

Haringey started off strong with tough defense and rapid scoring which Mayfield found very difficult to handle. The first quarter ended win a 32 – 12 lead to Haringey. The second quarter was more of the same as Haringey kept momentum and continued to score at a fast pace. A mixture of fastbreak points and three pointers from Haringey helped them keep their lead going up by 43 at half-time: 65 – 22.

Despite many three point shots in the second half from Mayfield, Haringey maintained control of the game on both ends of the floor with their excellent fast break play and consistent defensive pressure. The game ended with a 111 – 57 victory for Haringey Sixth Form College, who continue to show they are a very tough team to stop. Top scorers for Haringey were Distras (34pts) and Newbury (27pts) while Dar top scored for Mayfied leading his team with 19 points.

Haringey keep their winning streak alive and improve their record to 4–0 while Mayfield drop their record to 3-2. Next week Haringey play New City College (6-0) away, while Mayfield take on Moulton College (1-5).
