Haringey Sixth Form College 115 – 49 Leyton Sixth Form College

Yesterday’s home matchup for Haringey saw them take on Leyton Sixth Form College. The game started off well for Haringey who got off to a strong start, pushing the tempo of the game and continuously putting pressure on Leyton’s ball handlers which lead to open scores. Haringey won the first quarter 39-4 which included an impressive 7 threes from Haringey (4 from Young and 3 from Distras).

Leyton bounced back in the second quarter with multiple three point makes however still narrowly lost the second quarter and found themselves down at halftime 65-26. The second half saw Haringey continue to dominate with a variety of scoring including more threes from Young and Distras and some highlight dunks and drives from Newbury. Bautista (11 points) and Harding (9 points) also contributed to Haringey’s scoring with several run-out fastbreak points.

Haringey would go on to win the game with ease finishing with a final score of 115-49. Lopez lead Leyton Sixth Form College with 13 points while Haringey’s Owen Young top scored for his team with 30 points (7 three pointers). Alex Distras also added 29 (5 three pointers). Haringey now improve their record to 7 – 1 and progress in the Eastern Conference whilst Leyton drop to 4 – 8.

Next week Haringey go on the road to face Moulton College while Leyton play Mayfield school.
