County Upper School vs Nottingham Academy

County Upper put together a blistering second half to run away with a 106 – 87 victory against Nottingham Academy.

A split first half saw County Upper win the first quarter by 8 points (28 – 20) while Nottingham won the second quarter by 8 points leading to a tied game at half time 43 – 43. In the third quarter, County Upper stepped up their pace with a blistering 35 – 18 score opening a 17-point lead. Nottingham Academy never backed down and battled hard in the fourth but we unable to cut the lead as County Upper closed out the game.

“Nottingham are a very well coached team, and a young team who really work well together,” said coach Johnson. “The score line does not reflect the game which took place as they made us work for every point as well as making us work hard on defence. luckily we were able to take advantage in the third quarter allowing us to close out the game.”

County Upper were led in scoring by Kelechi Asuzu with 19 points and supported by Eivis Kriunas and Bradley Day with 17 points and 15 points respectively. Nottingham were lead in scoring by K. Kestenis with 30 points and supported by P. Ellery and T. Hudson with 28 points and 18 points respectively.
