COHENEL 75 – 91 St Charles College

A strong opening period from the visitors proved to be too much as they came away with a win on the road 91-75.

Tyler Small set the tone for St.Charles early by scoring 11 of his 17 points in the quarter. Their pressure defence resulted in St Charles getting easy scoring opportunities, leading 24-13 at end of the quarter.

The second quarter saw both teams going back and forth with St. Charles still controlling the game and gaining a 12 point lead going into the half.

The 3rd quarter was a largely even affair. COHENEL was able to cut the lead to 8 midway through the 4th quarter but it wasn’t enough as St. Charles proved to be too much down the stretch.

St. Charles was led in scoring by Adiodun Adedo who finished with 29 points 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Tyler Small chipped in with 17 points and Josh Akinbiyi tallied 15.

COHENEL’s top scorer was Tobi Ojuri with 18 points. Emmanuel Omosanya chipped in with 17 points, while Joseph Powell and Blessing Makanda added 15 and 12 points respectively.

COHENEL coach AJ Roberts said: “St. Charles set tone and they maintained it throughout the game. Credit to them! We will get back to work and look to bounce back!”

St. Charles will go to Three Rivers academy next week and COHENEL will travel to Uxbridge.
