City of Leeds Academy 73 – 81 Nottingham Academy

City of Leeds welcomed Nottingham academy at Allerton High School, as the visitors took the victory with a final score of 81-73.

The 1st quarter belonged to the hosts as COL took it with 26-19. The 2nd started with a high intensity from both sides but Nottingham won the quarter 17-15.

After half time, both teams were still competitive but fatigue was taking a toll on Leeds which caused foul trouble.  Nottingham capitalised and took the win, led by J.Bisungu who collected 20 points.

Leeds’ Will Lewis had a season high of 10 points with great contributions on both ends of the court. Jack Hampshire had amazing 1st quarter but unfortunately got into foul trouble, forcing Leeds into adjustments.

It was a great team effort led by the starters and the youngest player on the the team Josh Francis Keevash who also stepped up and collected 10 points. Bailey England had another amazing performance again on both end of the court, he came out with  24 points and 3 blocks.

City of Leeds head coach Zaman Akbary said: “I’m very happy with every individual players performance. We battled hard all the way through unfortunately getting in foul trouble, making silly mistakes on offence and and playing hard tired on defence cost us the game. We have a rest next week but looking forward take on QE Kights the following week.”
