Capital City Academy 76 -70 West Thames College

Capital City claimed 76-70 win at home again west London rivals, West Thames despite visitors solid 4th quarter.

First quarter saw team trading baskets without any of the side being able to establish a lead.

However aggressive defence by host team saw them limiting visitors to 11 points in 2nd period while going on the run of their own with 2 eye-catching dunks by capital city guard J.Alimi (16 points, 16 rebounds). Capital City took 15 points lead into changing rooms.

Home team never looked back to take pressure off and extended lead to 20 points behind scoring run by K.Ogunbona and enjoyed solid advantage going into final stanza.

However resilient West Thames side showed great effort led by A.Girona (35 points) and reduced deficit to only 6 points at final whistle.

“After 3 weeks with no game my boys definitely could not find the right rhythm. It wasn’t our best game however we were solid enough to claim another win against resilient West Thames team. We have lots to work on before upcoming big games.”

Kitan Ogunbona led home teams  scorers with 18 while supported by J.Alimi 16 points while visitors were led by A.Girona with massive 35 points display.

Capital City will look to extend winning streak with home game to St.Johns Wood next wee while West Thames will host Hammersmith College.
