Barton Peveril College 68 v 84 Harris City Academy Crystal Palace

Barton Peveril welcomed fellow newcomers Harris City Academy in their first ABL game as the visitors came away with a 68-84 win.

Harris jumped out to an early lead courtesy of some good ball movement, with all 5 starters scoring in the first 5 minutes. Some corner shooting and great all round offence from Rawle Allicock meant Harris led 26-12 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second, the game moved back and forth. Eight points from Frank Bokesa allowed Harris to stretch their lead to 50-27 by the half.

A 16-6 Harris run to start the 3rd effectively killed the game as a contest as Allicock would continue his control proceedings with 11 in the quarter.

Barton were able to find their tempo and defence and went on a 27-12 run spanning the end of the 3rd and beginning of the 4th, principally led by a group effort rotating and causing turnovers.

Next week Barton Peveril hit the road to take on King Henry School as Harris City host St Thomas the Apostle Sixth Form College.
