Aston Manor Academy vs Moulton College

Aston Manor put in a clinical performance on Wednesday afternoon by defeating Moulton College by 100 points, 139-39, with Mo Abushego leading all scorers with 28 points.

Moulton College put in a spirited first quarter scoring the first 4 points but after a quick timeout from Coach Xavier, Aston Manor quickly got into their stride and put Moulton under extreme pressure to up 75-20 at half time.

The third quarter was much of the same as Aston Manor kept Moulton to just 6 points as they stretched their lead to 115-27 going into the final quarter. With the game more or less won, Aston Manor ran their bench to see out the game.

We tried hard not to focus on the score or the numbers but the way we performed,” Said Head Coach Curtis Xavier. “In parts of the game we were very very good, in terms of conversion but in parts we struggled to maintain our own standards. With tough games coming up in the schedule, the boys will hopefully understand its not what you do but how you do it”

Conroy Hayden continued his streak of double doubles with 23 points and 14 rebounds with Zack Powell and Ryan Anglin adding 22 points apiece. Michael Akpadiaha-Jack had 12 points with Adegunloye chipping in with 10 for the visitors.

Aston Manor face Stoke next on February 6th whilst Moulton College are at home to a tough County Upper side on 30th January.
