Aston Manor Academy 60 – 72 Carmel College

Aston Manor failed to reach post season play for the first time in four seasons after a 60-72 loss to Carmel College on Wednesday afternoon.

The game was a tight affair from the start with both teams trading baskets in the first half. Diogo Mendes was was huge for Aston Manor scoring 20 of his game high 28 as Carmel went in at the half with a 27-30 lead.

However, in the 3rd quarter, Carmel put a 22-10 run to break the game open which Aston Manor just never recovered from.

“Final game for the seniors and a big thank you to them” said Head Coach Curtis Xavier. “Carmel was just better in all areas today and congratulations to them.”

Akol Ring added 20 points for Aston Manor and Peter Palmer top scored with 17 points for the visitors. Eliis Evans chipped in with 14 and Adam McGrath added 13 of his own.

With Aston Manor’s season now over we would like to wish Carmel the very best of luck next round of the play offs.
