#8 Stoke-on-Trent College 87-54 #9 Essex Rebels (Vi6 Colchester)

In the first round of the playoffs, Stoke-on-Trent took on Essex Rebels in what was to be a statement game for Stoke. Stoke did manage to come out with the win 87 – 54.
Stoke started the game with huge energy, looking to make a statement yet again. Stoke came out with the lead in the first quarter at 22-11. Coming up to the end of the half, stoke had the lead at 35 – 29.
Gaunt came out with an outstanding performance again, putting up and amazing 40 points with an amazing highlight play, also shooting an outstanding 56% from the 3. A. Tew came out again to prove that he is a top player with 16 points, 9 blocks, 5 assists and 19 rebounds with some amazing highlight plays. Another player who made this their game was O. Deval for Stoke making what was his statement game for the ABL putting up 17 points shooting 46% from 3 with 7 rebounds. Stoke did well on there defensive side holding Essex’s main players to 10 points.
Stoke are looking to continue their winning streak as they take on HTS in the quarter finals in the ABL playoffs.
