ABL Player of Week 17 – Conal Parnell

Conal Parnell is now a repeat winner of the ABL Player of the Week award, collecting his second nod of the year in week 17.

The North School beat Harris City Academy Crystal Palace 70-63, with Parnell scoring 26 points to go with 11 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks for an efficiency rating of 40.

“It feels great to win the ABL Player of the Week award for the second time this season but the most important thing is that we got a big win against a tough opponent that secures our place in the ABL Playoffs,” said Parnell, who won his previous award back in week 11.

“We stuck to our game plan and my teammates put me in situations where I was able to score the ball effectively. I’m just focused on the team keeping this momentum going as we head towards the postseason by committing to getting better every day.”

The North School head coach Andrew Sunderland added: “It is fantastic news for Conal to be named as the ABL’s Player of the Week and it is a testament to the remarkable leap that he has taken this year.

“He brings a composure, maturity and court presence that is beyond his years and he is performing at an elite level week in and week out.

“To top it off, he is the quintessential team-mate, who meticulously analyses his performances and holds himself accountable for the development of both himself and the team as a whole. I think the level that he is attaining is a clear indication that he is on track to achieving some truly special feats in the game of basketball.”
