Player of the Week: Phil Deveney

Archbishop Beck’s Phil Deveney has been awarded the ABL Player of the Week after dropping a huge 48 points in his sides win against Allerton High School last week.

Coach Delme Herriman’s team stuck to task and pounded the ball inside exploiting mismatches in several positions and further capitalizing on unforced errors and poor decision making. Archbishop Beck would go in to the half with an 18 point lead on the back of an impressive 34 first half points from Deveney. The battle then continued into the second half with Leeds making some adjustments but unfortunately they could not stem the tide, as the 3rd and 4th quarters would go in the favour of the team who had travelled over the Pennines.

Allerton Head Coach, coach Newby, articulated his thoughts on the game saying, “All Credit goes to Coach Herriman and his team they are tough and uncompromising in their approach and they capitalized in every aspect of the game. They dominated us on any aspect 50 / 50, loose balls, rebounding and rips, this to the coach as well as the attitude and aptitude of the players.”
