Player of the Week: Phil Deveney

Phil Deveney has been named as the Player of the Week after helping lead Archbishop Beck into the playoffs on the final week of the regular season.

The 2000-born forward poured in 28 points in his side’s decisive 85-62 victory over South Cheshire to make the post-season in their debut season.

“We had a huge crowd and the pressure and help from my team-mates helped me perform my best when it counted,” said Deveney.

Head Coach Delme Herriman added: “Phil really stepped up when it counted. Scoring 14 points in the first quarter alone. Nearly all of his points came within the offence and were unforced.”

Archbishop Beck finish with a 9-4 record and are set to face County Upper in the Sweet 16.
